The days at Weinberg, caring for my mom were always long and challenging, both physically and mentally. As a daughter, I understood the value of my situation, but needless to say, lightening the load was an important part of the daily routine. Don Joseph provided a very needed friendship that gave a dose of pleasantness only a true kindred spirit shares. Our running joke: relating as a school principal to a student, often made my day! As I scurried about the Weinberg Campus, "Mr. Joseph" would stop me in the dining room or halls wanting to see "my pass or else!" Luckily or not, I could produce a homemade paper with his own signature! Sometimes, I would see him coming and hide in the corridors, only to be caught by his crafty sense of authority! My friend, Don Joseph will be counted among the people I have every known who hold a special place in my memory and heart.
