Want to express my deep sorrow for your loss. Alan was a mentor to me and provided support and friendship while I was a student and resident at the University of Maryland in 1986. Dora, my wife, and I from to to time talk about those early days and how much Alan added texture to our lives. He was a caring, gentle and thoughtful man. We will always remember Alan, and we are so blessed to have known him.
